FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Greenville, SC – June 22, 2011 – Super Duper® Publications has begun bringing its line of fun educational materials into the mobile world, beginning with four new mobile Apps — the Super Duper® Age Calculator, Super Duper® Data Tracker, Webber® Photo Cards What Are They Thinking?, and Story Starters Fun Deck® . These applications are for the iPhone®, iPod touch®, and iPad® and are available at the iTunes® App Store. The Age Calculator also has an Android version listed at the Android Market.
The FREE Super Duper® Age Calculator App allows educators to calculate students’ chronological ages in years and months, as required for tests and assessments. Just enter the student’s birth date and test date, and the App quickly and accurately calculates the student’s age as of the testing date.
The Super Duper® Data Tracker gives educators a convenient and discreet way to document and monitor students’ progress. This App tracks all incorrect and correct responses, automatically calculates the percentage of correct responses, and allows the teacher to email the results to a personal or school address, parents, and administrators.
The What Are They Thinking? App has 60 photo images from the Webber® Photo Cards – What Are They Thinking? Fun Deck ®. Students can touch the screen and thought bubbles to hear what the people/animals are thinking, or they can use their imaginations and create their own thoughtful answers. As they play this application, students increase their reasoning, inferencing, and communication skills.
The Webber® Photo Cards – 60 Story Starters App has 60 bright, cheerful photos from the Super Duper® card deck. It combines the images with audio to give students creative ideas for beginning their own stories. Just touch the screen to hear the story starter. Then, have your students say or write what happens next. Tap the refresh button to hear a different story starter (180 in all). When you are ready to move to the next card, just slide the card to the side to progress. Story Starters is a great way to help students improve their storytelling, writing, describing, questioning, inferencing, and thinking skills.
Both the What Are They Thinking? and Story Starters applications allow teachers and parents to track data for all correct and incorrect responses one student at a time, and to send this data to others by email.
