Reflecting Jack Kent Cooke’s Love For The Arts, The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Has Supported Talented Musicians From Limited Financial Backgrounds Through Its Scholarship Programs, Sponsorship Of The Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award, And The Graduate Arts Award. The Foundation Recognizes That Musically Talented Youth From Low-income Families Often Lack The Funding For Private Lessons, Master Classes, Quality Instruments, Summer Programs, And Performance Experiences. These Musicians Often Miss Out On The Creativity And Stimulation That Comes From Being Surrounded By An Ensemble Of Talented Peers Sharing High Music Aspirations And Being Led By Inspiring Faculty. The “Widening The Stage” Grant Initiative Aims To Expand Access To Advanced Music Instruction For Talented Young Musicians, Ages 8-18, From Low-income Backgrounds. Free Or Low-cost Rigorous Training Through Community Music Schools, Conservatory/college Preparatory Programs, And Summer Programs Will Allow Low-income, Musically Talented Youth To Reach Their Full Music Potential.
