Greenville, SC – July 15, 2011 – Super Duper Publications has introduced a new line of Quick Take Along Mini-Books, a series of pocket-sized print resources for speech-language pathologists, special educators, teachers, and parents. The mini-books include vocabulary, grammar, critical thinking, auditory processing (listening), phonological awareness (sounds), and articulation activities.

Vocabulary Quick Take Along has ten different forms of vocabulary exercises to teach and practice word retrieval, word knowledge, and receptive and expressive vocabulary skills. Targeted skills include analogies, basic concepts, categories, idioms, multiple meanings, and more.

Grammar Quick Take Along has more than 50 pages of “to go” activities to teach and review common grammatical structures that students struggle with the most. It includes 25 different exercises covering — adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions, contractions, plurals, prepositions, pronouns, sentences, and verbs.

Critical Thinking Quick Take Along has numerous critical thinking and reasoning activities that teach students how to recall basic information, recognize true/false statements, complete sentences, solve problems, decipher inferences, practice deductive reasoning, and correct absurdities.

Auditory Processing Quick Take Along includes 28 different auditory processing activities for introducing or practicing listening and comprehension skills. Activities target discrimination of sounds, following directions, memory for words/sentences, rhyming, syllable awareness, and more.

Phonology Quick Take Along includes 1,100 minimal pairs that target ten phonological processes. Minimal pairs are organized by sounds made at the front of the mouth (bilabials) to the back of the mouth (velars). Educators can use the lists of words for informal phonology screening or as stimuli for therapy.

Articulation Quick Take Along includes 1,386 total words to use in quick artic sessions, informal student screenings, or as stimuli while playing games. Students practice initial, medial, and final sound positions (18 or more words per position) and 24 different letter sounds/blends.

All Quick Take Along Mini-Books are 5″ x 3″ to fit easily into a pocket, purse, or bag. The laminated pages offer long lasting use and the books are spiral bound. Also, these Take Alongs are appropriate for all ages and skill levels.
