Adoption of cloud-based class content recording solution gains traction; Student usage of Tegrity increases 47% as users log over one million recording views year-to-date

SANTA CLARA, Calif., (July 19, 2011 ) — As higher education institutions recognize the powerful impact of lecture and course content recording technology, Tegrity, a division of McGraw-Hill Higher Education, today announced a record number of new customers in Q2, an increase of 157% over the same period the year prior.

A small sampling of new customers added in Q2 include Eastern Washington University, University of Washington, and Washington State University (purchasing together as part of the Washington Institutions of Public Higher Education); Saint Louis University; University of New Hampshire; University of South Alabama, College of Medicine; and University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Tegrity Usage Surges as Lecture Capture Improves Learning

Year-to-date, usage of Tegrity’s lecture capture technology surged 47% over last year with students viewing over 1,155,007 hours of instructor videos. The number of unique students using Tegrity increased 35% during the same period, and total student views increased by 38%, from 1,447,410 to 2,322,985, further exhibiting a rapidly growing adoption rate for the cloud-based lecture capture service. Throughout the school year, Tegrity logs millions of views by college students across the nation who take advantage of its highly personalized and interactive learning environment to make study time incredibly efficient.
