HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., July 25, 2011 — Creative Teaching Press™ and sister company Pacific Learning, Inc. announce the donation of $25K in learning materials and classroom décor to tornado-devastated schools in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This donation is in response to a National School Supply and Equipment Association (NSSEA) call to action to its association’s members, stating “as an industry that makes a real difference in the lives of the children and teachers everyday, we have a unique opportunity to assist the Alabama communities that were tragically hit by catastrophic tornados earlier this year.” After hearing the news that several Tuscaloosa schools are being forced to start from scratch, Creative Teaching Press and Pacific Learning swung into action.
“Creative Teaching Press and Pacific Learning are pleased to donate our educational materials to the schools affected by the recent tornado, and are thankful that NSSEA is coordinating this effort,” said Jim Connelly, Creative Teaching Press and Pacific Learning CEO. “We sympathize with all the teachers and children affected by the natural disasters in the U.S. and are doing as much as we can to help them during this tragic time,” Connelly said.
Creative Teaching Press and Pacific Learning sent supplemental learning materials, classroom décor, and literacy resources to Tuscaloosa school district officials and the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama’s Adopt-A-School director. Together, the school district and chamber director will work closely with the school principals and classroom teachers to distribute all donated products where they are most needed. NSSEA states that they are aware that other communities have been impacted by tragic storms this year, and is offering to get the message out to other industry leaders in the community about making product donations. This can be done by contacting NSSEA President Jim McGarry at firstname.lastname@example.org.
