Classroom resources help students learn about space discoveries

Amazing Space, from the Formal Education Group of the Space Telescope Science Institute’s Office of Public Outreach, uses the Hubble Space Telescope’s discoveries to inspire and educate about the wonders of the universe. The site focuses on astronomy, math, and physics, and features lesson plans, printable images, and interactive online activities. Educators can search by topics such as black holes, galaxies, gravity, and the solar system. Classroom tools include activities, graphic organizers, myths and realities, and online explorations. “Tonight’s Sky” is a monthly guide to the night sky, and a new tactile astronomy section features a collection of the latest Hubble images that can be printed in a tactile format. The site’s homework section helps students find answers to questions, locate definitions, find resources for projects, study, debate ideas, and even build models. http://amazing-space.stsci.edu/
