CDC helps educators identify students with Autism Spectrum Disorders

The Centers for Disease Control has just released startling new numbers: one in every 88 children is now identified with an Autism Spectrum Disorder [1], or ASD, Kimberly Morgan reports for Yahoo! News. Considering the rising prevalence of the diagnosis, up from 6.6 for each 1,000 children in 2002 to 11.3 in 2008, it’s not surprising that teachers are increasingly among the first to identify students with autism.
