Futuresource Consulting Recognizes Industry Leader with Over 34% Market Share

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – Turning Technologies, the global leader in the assessment delivery and data collection industry, confirmed its number one market position in a first quarter 2012 report delivered by independent research firm Futuresource Consulting. The report confirms that Turning has grown its number one position for the seventh consecutive calendar quarter. During the first quarter, over 34% of all “clicker” response devices shipped worldwide were distributed from Turning Technologies, more than the number two and number three providers combined.

According to Futuresource, Turning has grown in both unit sales overall and in market share in every segment, reinforcing its position as the leading provider of response systems. Compared to the prior year, the number of units shipped grew by 18%. Individual market standings are expected to ascend with the introduction of new products specifically focused on K-12 customers. Turning also sees great opportunity to expand its existing mobile solutions due to the large implementation of mobile computing worldwide. In 2011, nearly 12 million mobile computers were purchased by schools globally, creating a strong need for accompanying products. The company’s comprehensive portfolio not only includes handheld hardware devices but also mobile apps and polling software that uniquely positions the company with multiple revenue channels.

Turning Technologies response solutions allow speakers to ask participants interactive assessment questions. TurningPoint® polling software directly integrates with PowerPoint®, polls with any application using a floating toolbar and offers self-paced testing capabilities. Participants answer questions with handheld ResponseCard® keypads which transmit responses to a radio frequency USB receiver. Turning’s ResponseWare® app also offers the ability for participants to answer questions with any web-connected device. Results are instantly displayed on screen and available in detailed reports or for further analysis with LMS or data management solutions.

“Turning does not offer a host of unrelated technology products. We focus on being the very best at what we do. Unlike most of our competitors, Turning has maintained a dedicated focus on how our technology can reliably, securely and seamlessly automate assessment delivery and data collection,” said Turning Technologies’ CEO Mike Broderick. “As our markets have become increasingly sophisticated in the requirements necessary for the best solutions, Turning has emerged and is continuing to establish itself as the dominant global leader in our industry. Our products have become the benchmark from which other competing solutions are compared. We fully expect our market leading position to continue to grow and expand.”
