GuideK12™, the only geovisual analytics company serving the education market, is delighted to announce Chuck Amos as the new CEO for the organization. The company’s geovisual analytics software enables school district administrators to instantly visualize information spatially and make faster, more insightful decisions – from boundary analysis and policy changes to resource planning and forecasting enrollments.
Chuck is a proven industry executive with over 20 years of success in driving growth and creating new opportunities for companies in the educational technology marketplace. For many years he has been an independent consultant with educational technology companies globally, including GuideK12. Prior to consulting, Chuck Amos served as the CEO of Atomic Learning. Under his leadership, the company grew to become the world’s leading provider of web-based software training serving schools globally. Before joining Atomic Learning, Amos worked as the Central US education regional manager for Apple Computer.
Amos is known in the education marketplace as having a high degree of “leadership agility,” and as a result, his vision for the future of GuideK12 is innovative, purposeful, and compelling.
“Chuck has a strong track record of driving technological innovation, strategic market growth, and developing key customer relationships while building and retaining strong management teams, in the education market place,” stated Kevin Nieuwsma, a GuideK12 board member. “He has been an advisor to the company for the past one and a half years as an independent consultant and we are excited to have him take on the leadership role as CEO.

“It is an honor to be selected for this critical role at GuideK12, an organization which is on the fast track to reaching its full potential as a game changer in the education industry,” states Amos. “GuideK12 is empowering superintendents and other decision-makers to get immediate answers to critical what-if questions. Schools don’t need more data, they need more insight into the data and that is what GuideK12 does. It is for this reason that I am so excited to advance GuideK12 in the market so we can help schools make better decisions and meet the needs of all of their students and communities. Our initial successes have been with districts ranging from a few thousand students to some as large as 350,000. Our year-to-date success also reinforces the power GuideK12 has to enable educators to visualize the possible answers hidden in their data today.”

“I also am thrilled that Kevin Nieuwsma will be staying with us as an integral member of our Board of Directors. Kevin was the visionary behind the success of GuideK12 thus far and I look forward to accelerating the innovation and growth of the company that he started.”

Throughout Chuck’s career he has been involved in creating a variety of programs serving the needs of education including; statewide implementations of programs, professional development offerings, school networking, technology planning and implementation, education technology initiatives at the local, state and national level. He has also been actively involved in national education policy with organizations including ISTE, CoSN, SIIA, SETDA and others.
The company today also revealed that it has received new growth capital to fund ongoing product development, and to increase sales and marketing capabilities. “This additional funding is a great vote of confidence in GuideK12’s vision, as well as in the long term potential of our company,” said Amos. “We are off to a very fast start in defining a whole new category for the education market. We plan to use this funding to invest heavily in ensuring the success of our customers and to further accelerate our growth with greater functionality.” This additional investment was made by the private equity fund that owns the company, a private investment group – JEB LLC, and Chuck Amos.
