Las Vegas — June 20, 2012 — Private postsecondary career schools and higher education institutions stand to benefit greatly from academic ERP features Three Rivers Systems, Inc. is demonstrating at the Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities annual convention in Las Vegas this week.
Next month U.S. Department of Education rules take effect requiring for-profit and not-for-profit career colleges to show they are preparing students for “gainful employment.” Among the rules these colleges are now required to show that at least 35 percent of former students repay loans and that loan payments don’t exceed 30 per cent of a graduate’s discretionary income.
Schools that fail these metrics may become ineligible for federal lending programs. While for-profit career colleges like those attending APSCU are the most affected, all higher-education institutions are taking notice.
According to Three Rivers Systems Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing Jami Morshed, “Higher education in general is bracing for intense scrutiny, more reporting and greater attention to metrics related to successful student outcomes.”
He said CAMS Enterprise Business Analytics, the academic ERP’s sophisticated business-intelligence feature, empowers faculty, administrators, department heads and others to get the on-demand data they need in attractive easy-to-use dashboards that simplify and enhance the strategic decision-making process so necessary in today’s unforgiving environment of cost-consciousness and accountability.
“Achieving maximum efficiency and productivity that helps deliver the ultimate student learning experience is every institution’s goal,” Morshed added.
Today’s higher-education institutions have more data than ever, more decisions to make, and the need to ensure productivity and continual mission focus. CAMS Enterprise Business Analytics delivers quick access to easy-to-understand information so they can achieve maximum efficiency and productivity in decision- making — keeping the institution focused on student satisfaction and results.
Dashboards and reporting go hand-in-hand to provide clear insight into an institution’s operations, but reporting is often a key challenge for institutions. With some systems, users confront the challenge of complex report-writing software and data spread across multiple databases, making it difficult to do their jobs. Users become heavily dependent on IT departments just to get information out of the system.
In contrast, CAMS Enterprise excels at making end-user reporting easy. With point-and-click reporting simplicity, CAMS makes the right data available to the right people at the right time, empowering administrative staff and freeing-up IT resources for more valuable contributions.
CAMS excels in this and all types of reporting because it is built on a secure, single shared Microsoft SQL database that serves all major departments and portals. So, all system-wide data is always available in real-time for any report. Thanks to CAMS Enterprise’s simplified yet “disruptive” architecture institutions using CAMS enjoy quick and widespread adoption by students, faculty and staff.
Colleges and universities around the world are saving hundreds of thousands of dollars annually in many other ways with CAMS Enterprise while their huge increases in productivity allow them to focus their resources on better serving students.
Forward-thinking APSCU schools are leaders in online education. CAMS Enterprise is also uniquely capable of meeting the special requirements of these programs.
Whether it’s having the flexibility to offer semesters, trimesters, serial or concurrent terms all with variable start and end dates, CAMS can be readily configured. CAMS provides everything colleges and universities need to manage the entire student lifecycle, including recruitment; marketing; online applications; block-and-sequence registration; registration and payment; integrated financial aid; built-in degree audit; outcome tracking; built-in portals; mandated reports and much more, all integrated with medical applications.
The Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities, APSUC, is a voluntary membership organization of accredited, private postsecondary schools, institutes, colleges and universities that provide career-specific educational programs. APSCU has more than 1,900 members that educate and support nearly two million students each year for employment in over 200 occupational fields. APSCU member institutions provide the full range of higher education programs, including master’s and doctorate degrees, two- and four-year associate and baccalaureate degree programs, and short-term certificate and diploma programs.
