CUE Presents the Common Core Learning Tour

Walnut Creek, Calif., September 4, 2012 – Computer-Using Educators (CUE) Inc., is bringing another professional development opportunity to educators. Using CUE’s new Learning Tour model, the Common Core Learning Tour will start in Santa Cruz at the Santa Cruz Office of Education and feature a keynote and breakout sessions. The tour will then move to Costa Mesa the following day to the Orange County Department of Education. The fee for either one-day session is $99 for CUE members and $139 for non-CUE members (registration includes CUE membership) and includes both a light breakfast and lunch.

This second learning tour will take the mystery out of Common Core standards and help attendees find out how technology and Common Core work together. State testing will be drastically different in the near future, and CUE wants to facilitate understanding with regard to the Standards as well as delineate the role that technology will play in the new model. Whether you are a Common Core newbie or a pro, the CUE Learning Tour will help you explore how educational technology will enhance your curriculum and instruction. This isn’t just about tools; we will show you how to integrate technology and, as a result, increase collaboration and curricular rigor just like the new standards require.

Elizabeth Calhoon, Keynote for the Common Core Learning Tour, is excited to be taking part in this event: “Common Core is one of those topics that is not only exciting but also a bit groundbreaking in its scope. When so many states have come together to create a common set of standards applicable to every grade level, and technology is there to support this venture, it fosters hope for the educational system and for the future.” Calhoon will be joined by Catlin Tucker, Jen Roberts and Sean Williams for breakout sessions.

Teachers, administrators, district personnel and other educators are encouraged to register now as seats are filling quickly! Register at
