State College, Pennsylvania, November 28, 2012 – Schoolwires is partnering with the Flipped Learning Network™ to deliver a series of content about implementing and supporting a flipped classroom. The first article, “How Administrators Can Support Flipped Learning”, is available now on the Schoolwires’ website.
The Flipped Learning Network is a leader in helping schools implement the flipped classroom model. Its mission is to provide educators with the knowledge, skills, and resources to successfully implement flipped learning. The organization has more than 10,000 members from around the world participating within its Community of Practice.
“Partnering with Schoolwires furthers our goals of promoting collaboration and distributing best and promising practices,” said Kari M. Arfstrom, Ph.D., Executive Director, Flipped Learning Network. “The company’s reputation as one of the best providers of educational technology solutions for K-12 made them a natural partner for this series of informational articles and webinars.”
Schoolwires provides Web-based solutions that not only support flipped learning, but are also designed to make it easier for teachers and administrators to implement this model of education. The tips for administrators was developed based on a webinar that Schoolwires hosted with Jonathan Bergmann and Brian E. Bennett, pioneers of the flipped classroom model and board members of the Flipped Learning Network. The suggestions for administrators include, “Give teachers time to adjust; roll out changes slowly and create an implementation plan”; and, “create open and collaborative learning spaces where kids can work together to solve problems using digital devices.”
“This content is important because it speaks directly to administrators,” said Chris Crawford, CEO, Schoolwires. “Flipped learning has been teacher-driven for about five years. Now, administrators want to become more informed so they can be supportive and promote this method of delivering student-centered learning. This article is just the first example of the valuable content that we will produce jointly with the Flipped Learning Network to inform educators and administrators.”
The first article was distributed Wednesday during the Association of Educational Service Agencies conference in Tampa, Florida.
