Highly regarded Nossal High school is located just behind Monash University’s Berwick
Campus. The school, a model educational institute is one of four academically selective High
schools in the state.
With uniquely gifted students, Nossal sought a uniquely featured security camera system to
protect its pupils, staff and assets.
Facility Manager Jason Bell conducted an extensive evaluation of proposals offered by
security integrators and finally settled on an IP CCTV system supplied and installed by Zoom
“We looked at a lot of factors” says Mr Bell. “Recorded picture quality and price being two
of the primary criteria. We also have a challenging installation environment with the glass
and aluminium facades and other architectural features of the school.”
At Nossal High School students are provided with the opportunity to experience an adult
learning environment in preparation for further study whilst still in high School. Students
are given an open area of classrooms where teachers and their peers can interact with
access to many high value IT assets. With this unique learning environment students have
the freedom to independently study or meet with teachers, which mean a lot of movement
in and around the school.
Zoom Video was able to leverage Nossal High school’s existing IT infrastructure to save on
installation costs. The full IP capabilities also helped with attaining a budget for the roll out.
“Zoom Video’s networking credentials were another major attraction of the system” Jason
Bell advises. “We were very mindful of not letting just any security contractor near our
network environment.”
Jason announces that his experience working with the Zoom Video team was very enjoyable
and one that won’t be forgotten. Mr Bell goes on to say “The team at Zoom Video provided
such excellent communication throughout the entire installation and a helping hand
whenever we asked. I am more than pleased with the service I was given and the flexibility
Zoom Video was happy to work around our hours so that none of the classes were affected
during the installation period. It was fantastic to be involved with a team that show such
consideration, perfection and quality of the program all through to the operation and on the
spot customer service.”
Jason stated that he has never come across a company that demonstrated such
professionalism in all the years he has associated with the trade industry… “I am amazed at
how they treat and work on their product like it was their very own”.
Jason expressed that the system was designed to be implemented for the safety of the
students, staff and school. “From the minute the system was activated we realised a lot of
concerns within the school grounds, which enabled our staff to rectify these minor
“Not only did Zoom Video lead in affordability from their competitors, the digital picture
quality and Zoom PTZ is incredible” affirmed Jason. “The quality of the picture is so clear
that you are able to instantly recognise facial features and license plates and identify when
there are intruders within the school grounds. I am thrilled with Zoom Video and their
product that I am willing to show the system to anyone that would like to see the amazing
results for themselves at our premises”.
