CHICAGO, IL (March 4, 2013) – Learning Enhancement Corporation (LEC) announced that Douglas Van Poppel has been appointed Vice President of Business Development. In this role, he will be responsible for generating new business, particularly sales of the company’s BrainWare Safari cognitive skills development software and the company’s Brains-On Professional Development in the education market.

Prior to joining LEC, Mr. Van Poppel served as Vice President of Sales for Solai & Cameron, Inc., where he managed sales of mobility, surveillance and networking technologies for customers such as McDonald’s, The City of Chicago, Cook County and Chicago Public Schools. Prior experience includes sales and project development roles with IBM, Lucent Technologies, Avaya, Inc., TYCO Electronics and Anixter Inc. He holds a BS in Business Management and Marketing from Indiana University South Bend.

From 2006 to 2008, Mr. Van Poppel led the only fan-owned buyout initiative approved by Major League Baseball for the Chicago Cubs.
