We like our technological gizmos here in Corvallis, so it’s a brave thing when a public official in a public setting dares to utter even a well-reasoned word of caution, the Corvallis Gazette-Times reports. In that light, we were intrigued by a small note in a story you might have noticed recently in the Gazette-Times about the Corvallis School District’s plans to eventually buy iPads or tablet computers for every one of the 6,500 students and teachers in the district. The goal is to get one of these admittedly remarkable devices in everyone’s hands by the time the 2014-15 school year rolls around. Now, you get a pretty good bulk discount when you buy these things in the thousands, but it’s still going to cost a couple million dollars…
