SCOTTSDALE, AZ (June 4, 2013) – eInstruction, a leading education technology company, announced today the winners of its “Classroom Reimagined” video contest for grades K-12. The top three video entries will be awarded Insight 360 software licenses for their school.
The eight-week contest, held March 18 to May 17, called for educators in the U.S. and Canada (excluding Quebec) to submit short, creative videos demonstrating how they are using Insight 360 with the iPad® and other web-enabled devices to seamlessly deliver interactive instruction and assessment with real-time results.
The video entries were evaluated by a panel of eInstruction judges on how effectively they demonstrated how technology benefits the classroom, engages students, makes learning fun, and enhances best teaching practices. Social media activity, including video views and sharing, was also considered in the overall scoring.
The first place winner will receive forty (40) licenses of Insight 360 Premium Edition with one year of Web Access. The second and third place videos will receive twenty (20) and ten (10) licenses, respectively. The combined prize packages are valued at more than $150,000.
The winners are as follows:
FIRST PLACE: Michael Grothem’s 6th grade class at Corona Ranch Elementary School in Corona, California.
“I am honored that my class won the Classroom Reimagined video contest and excited to expose my school to Insight 360. I truly believe it can revolutionize instruction, assessment, and the way learning takes place in the classroom,” said Grothem.
SECOND PLACE: Ryan Shetler’s K-5 computers class at Crums Lane Elementary in Louisville, Kentucky.
“I first fell in love with eInstruction’s CPS software and clickers for the ability to make multiple-choice test in seconds. Now, with Insight 360, I can see student responses and identify who needs help on my iPad as I walk around the room. My students love seeing their answers shared with the class and are engaged because they see their results so quickly,” said Shetler.
THIRD PLACE: Emily Schultz’s 3rd grade class at Saint Cornelius School in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.
“We are so excited and grateful for this amazing opportunity and happy to be able to share Insight 360 with the teachers here,” said Schultz. “It is an engaging tool that we can use to enhance our formative assessment and incorporate even more technology in our daily instruction.”
