Natick, Mass., May 21, 2013–Kurzweil Educational Systems®, a business unit of Cambium Learning Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: ABCD), announced today that a robust and flexible reporting feature has been added to Kurzweil 3000®-firefly. This reporting feature, which is available to any customer with a current subscription license, measures student logins and files opened, and allows educators to collect data that will be integral to their students’ success.

Teachers and administrators in K-12 and post-secondary institutions will know in real time whether the literacy tools provided to support their students are being accessed and used. Early identification that a student or group of students isn’t using the literacy supports enables early intervention, such as supplemental training, ultimately leading to the academic success and retention of students.

“We are excited to offer our customers insight into how their students are using Kurzweil 3000-firefly,” said Alex Saltonstall, general manager, Kurzweil Educational Systems and IntelliTools. “The reporting feature was designed in consultation with our users to help teachers and administers quickly identify areas of particular strength and areas where support and coaching are necessary. Whether used to understand a districts’ use of the system broadly, or to track a specific student’s progress relative to an IEP or other instructional goal, this reporting will help our customers achieve our shared mission: student success.”
