VERO BEACH, Fla. (June 13, 2013) – One of the new highlights at ISTE’s 34th Annual Conference and Exposition, to be held later this month in San Antonio, promises to be the Ed Tech Start-up Pavilion where attendees can experience first-hand the innovative software and applications that 20 selected companies have developed to help transform learning and teaching.

Rourke Educational Media – a global leader in education solutions – has been chosen as one of the companies to be featured in the Start-up Pavilion, which will be located in ISTE’s Expo Hall, Booth 9282, beginning Monday, June 24.

From its portfolio of ed-tech solutions that promote literacy and reading for the preK-12 market, Rourke Educational Media will be showcasing its e-Read and Report. This innovative learning tool is purposefully designed for online independent reading programs, and includes vocabulary and comprehension assessment. Questions focus on informational text reading strategies, supporting higher-level thinking, as defined by the Common Core State Standards. Rubrics include vocabulary test that identifies strengths and weaknesses of all students assessed.

Easily accessible by tablet, smartphone or computer, e-Read and Report allows students to read the e-books and take the test (from nearly anywhere), and provides for individual student and administrative access. The program reports detailed student performance on vocabulary and comprehension, while each student’s progress is stored and can be used for monitoring from year to year. eRead and Report also supports dual language programs.

Florida-based Rourke Educational Media helps to improve student learning through traditional print publishing, digital publishing, and response to intervention learning solutions that support local and national standards. The company’s mission is to engage students, support educators, and increase student learning with budget friendly solutions designed for learning and available on multi-digital and print platforms that will help transform the educational performance of a school or school district.

ISTE ’13’s Expo Hall, inside the San Antonio Convention Center, will open at 9:30 a.m. each of the three mornings (Monday-Wednesday, June 24-26) and close at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, 5 p.m. on Tuesday, and 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
