School funding difficulties show no sign of abating, and school budgets are stretched to the limit. Many educators and administrators rely on school grants to fund important projects and opportunities for students.

During the beginning of every month, the editors of eSchool News compile a list of the most current education grants expiring soon—from digital reading to math research. You don’t want to miss out on these school funding opportunities for teachers, students, parents, and administrators!

1.$1K for arts education

Applications may be made for a grant up to $1,000 to support a new or evolving program that integrates the arts into educational programming.The purpose is to aid and support teachers who wish to establish an effective learning tool using the arts in teaching children who learn differently. 2.Digital reading subscriptions for elementary students

Calling all teachers! Looking for a project to add a little “Magic” to your classroom? Have your class enter Mrs. P’s 5th Annual “Be-A-Famous-Writer” Contest. Mrs. P invites your class to write a story on the topic of “Magic” (since I love my Magic Library), no less than 250 words and not to exceed 1,000 words. It may be fiction or non-fiction. Any classroom from Kindergarten through 4th grade may enter. Just one story per classroom! Deadline: November 15th, 2013. 3.Up to $10K to help women, girls access educational opportunities

Community Action Grants provide funds to individuals, AAUW branches, and AAUW state organizations as well as local community-based nonprofit organizations for innovative programs or non-degree research projects that promote education and equality for women and girls. 4.$3K for math research

This grant provides financial support for action research conducted as a collaborative by university faculty, preservice teacher(s), and classroom teacher(s) seeking to improve their understanding of mathematics in PreK–8 classroom(s).
