PRINCETON, NJ, October 31, 2013 – My Voice, a digital initiative from the Pearson Foundation, has announced a series of webinars in partnership with The webinars will focus on how educators and administrators can gather critical information about students’ perceptions of their experiences at school in an effort to create more student-centered environments.

My Voice helps students articulate their school-inspired sense of self-worth, engagement, and purpose. My Voice uses surveys to gather student perceptions and maps the feedback to 8 Conditions that Make a Difference, the basis for the Aspirations Framework, a proven approach to addressing the educational challenges facing students today, backed by 25 years of research led by Dr. Russell Quaglia, founder of the Quaglia Institute for Student Aspirations (QISA).

Charting Student Aspirations: The Community-building Phase

Who should participate: Educators and administrators at grades 3-12.

The second of three My Voice webinars will highlight the My Voice three-phase process: Discovery; Community-building and Collaborative Action, then dive into the Community-building phase and how it works. The webinar will explore how educators can chart a different approach and create concrete solutions by taking a vital step: building a feeling of community. The discussion will emphasize the importance of student aspirations using examples from several schools to highlight real obstacles. The webinar will close with an interactive Q&A session and serve as a jumping off point for the third webinar on collaborative action.
