December has a number of engaging ed-tech events
The school year has moved into December, and as educators and students gear up for a much-deserved break from school, the month brings with it some notable educational and tech-oriented events.
International PISA results will be released on December 3, and the results have important implications [1] for U.S. teaching and learning.
Computer Science Education Week kicks off on December 9. One of the biggest events that week is the Hour of Code [2], in which educators and students pledge to spend an hour learning about computer science and computer programming.
Stay tuned as eSN takes a look at how teachers across the country are participating in the Hour of Code.
Teachers can access other computer science events here [3].
We also have two eSN Twitter Hours set to take place this month, on December 10 and Dec. 17, both at 7 p.m. eSN editors Laura Devaney [4] and Meris Stansbury [5] will be discussing ed-tech issues–including BYOD, mobile learning, eRate, and more–with readers.
