MCHENRY, Ill., Feb. 6, 2014 – The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal trade association for the software and digital content industries, has named Susan Adelmann as co-chair of its Education Division Board of Directors for 2014.
Adelmann, vice president of strategic partnerships for Follett School Solutions, was originally elected to a two-year term on the board in August 2012. She joined Follett in 2006 and possesses more than 30 years of software industry experience in product development, business strategy and strategic partnering, and marketing and product management.
Adelmann serves as board co-chair with Bruce Wilcox, vice president of Carolina Science Online at Carolina Biological Supply Co. Adelmann and Wilcox will lead the 21-person board and will represent more than 180 SIIA Education Division member firms that provide educational, software applications, digital content, online learning services, and related technologies across the PreK-20 sector. Follett has been an SIIA member for nearly seven years.
“SIIA serves an essential role in the education industry, strengthening the individual voices of its member companies who provide technology solutions, learning content and professional services to schools in the United States and around the world,” Adelmann said. “This is a unique organization where startup entrepreneurs, growing companies, and seasoned education-solution providers can safely collide, collaborate, and innovate to address shared industry challenges and create products and services that better meet the needs of learners and educators.”
Through its SIIA membership, Adelmann said Follett remains ahead of education industry policy changes and seizes regular opportunities to collaborate with thought leaders to shape, influence and implement next-generation education solutions that benefit its customers.
“It is an honor and a privilege to serve as co-chair among an incredibly talented board at this time of so many new possibilities for education and learning,” Adelmann added.
