New System Extends Teachers’ Natural Voice Throughout Classroom
Enhances Audibility, Intelligibility, Learning

David Posnack Jewish Day School announced today that is has chosen Redcat® from Lightspeed Technologies, Inc. for use in all Lower School classrooms. The system, which has been installed as of today, uses proprietary technology to extend a teacher’s natural voice to every part of the classroom equally through the use of a wireless microphone. By eliminating variations in volume and “dead zones,” Redcat® improves audibility and intelligibility.

Research conducted by Lightspeed has demonstrated that enabling students to hear every word no matter where they sit in the classroom improves teacher-student connection and maximizes learning. The company refers to the system as an “exciter technology” because of the way Redcat® “excites” voice signals, radiating sounds evenly throughout the classroom. Of the new system, Dr. Richard Cuenca, Posnack’s Head of School, said: “This is just one important example of how our school uses technology in meaningful ways to improve learning outcomes for our students.” David Posnack Jewish Day School is the first and only school in Broward County to utilize the Redcat® technology in every K-5 classroom.
