SALEM, Ore. (April 3, 2014) – Mobile Education Store announces the launch of its Kickstarter campaign for Crack the Books, an interactive, state-of-the-art series of non-fiction science books. Designed for students of all reading capabilities, Crack the Books provides differentiated instruction through the first digital book that can be adjusted for reading level. With the touch of a button, a parent or teacher can change the reading level from a first to eighth grade level, without sacrificing content.
Funds raised through the 30-day Kickstarter campaign will support the next generation of digital books, which can cost tens of thousands of dollars to produce. With the additional funds, Mobile Education Store will generate more books to complete the popular life science series, and cover additional subject areas such as social studies.
“As a father of a daughter with special needs, I developed Crack the Books to help students of all reading abilities receive proper instruction and learn at their own pace,” said Kyle Tomson, president and founder of Mobile Education Store. “With your support, we can ensure these books will be available to help all students, from those with special needs to those with academic gifts, become better, more confident readers.”
Developed in partnership with universities, researchers and educators, the interactive books are the most up-to-date and accurate science texts available today. The series features rich audio-visual elements, including animated maps, custom animations and interactive activities, to help students understand difficult concepts. Built-in tests for each chapter and reading level measure a student’s understanding of the material.
“By engaging the visual, audio and tactile senses, Crack the Books enables students to learn faster and retain what they learn,” said Tomson. “We bring science content to life with the help of award-winning photographers, videographers and animators from around the world to reach and inspire all children.”
