Endorsed by Cambridge International Examinations and ideal for any international or bilingual school

Just launched, and a must for all international and bilingual schools, is the new Cambridge Primary series – an innovative set of resources designed to support teachers and help learners succeed within the Cambridge International Primary curriculum.

Taking an enquiry-based approach to learning with an international focus, the series has been developed for use in any international or bilingual school for 5-11 year olds. Currently available is Cambridge Primary Global English (for English as a Second Language learners), Cambridge Primary Science and Cambridge Primary Maths, with Cambridge Primary English (for first language learners) launching in November 2014. Primary Maths, Science and English are endorsed by the Cambridge International Examinations board, while Global English meets the Cambridge Framework for English as a Second Language

“The Cambridge Primary series is a unique tranche of schemes which deliver the Cambridge Primary curriculum – and much more – through thorough teaching guidance, highly engaging and creative activities,” said Edward Rippeth, Head of Primary at Cambridge University Press. “Using an enquiry-led approach, it will inspire children from the start.”

All four subject areas feature six stages, to be used as learners progress through the years, and include learner books, write-in activity books and teacher resources.

“It’s not just limited to Cambridge schools. Non-CIE schools and aspiring bilingual schools will also greatly benefit from the approach it takes and its very international content,” said Kathryn Harper, author of Cambridge Global English.

The Cambridge Primary series completes the suite of market-leading titles already available for a lifetime of learning: Cambridge Checkpoint, Cambridge O level, Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International AS and A level.

All the material sets clear goals for learners and teachers and provides carefully
structured questions, tasks and end-of-unit tests to help build learners’ confidence and help teachers monitor progress.

The Primary Maths and Primary Science resources have also been designed with ESL (English as a Second Language) learners in mind, using accessible language, diagrams and illustrations throughout to support visual learning and help young learners to develop their subject-specific English skills. The NRich project – which is dedicated to the enrichment of further Mathematics teaching everywhere – has partnered in the creation of Cambridge Primary Maths and supports learning with its range of exciting and challenging free online Maths activities.
