Free, Research-Based Reading Comprehension Curriculum Adds Association of American Publishers REVERE Award to Growing List of Prestigious Honors

NEW YORK – June 5, 2014 – ReadWorks is the winner of the 2014 REVERE Distinguished Achievement Award for Supplemental Resources, Reading and Language Arts, presented by the PreK-12 Learning Group of the Association of American Publishers (AAP). ReadWorks was the only nonprofit finalist in this category.

This latest accolade for ReadWorks comes close on the heels of being named the Best Reading/English/ELL Instructional Solution in the country by the most prestigious award program in education technology, the Software & Information Industry (SIIA) CODiE Awards.

ReadWorks continues to pursue its mission of improving teacher effectiveness and student achievement in reading comprehension by remaining uncompromisingly faithful to the highest quality research in literacy instruction. The AAP, SIIA and more than 700,000 educators throughout the country who use ReadWorks provide strong affirmation of the changing, improving landscape for research-based literacy curriculum.

Formerly known as the AEP Awards program, the REVERE Awards were established by the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) and continue a decades-long tradition of honoring excellence across all resources for preK-12 and adult learners, educators, and administrators. Hundreds of entries are submitted each year, including print materials, digital learning tools, professional development curricula, and a wide range of periodicals. Entries are subject to a rigorous judging process consisting of three rounds of review by teachers and leading experts throughout the industry. Three key principles–quality content, age appropriateness, and innovation–drive the judging criteria and evaluation process.
