BOISE, Idaho – GoGo Labs, Inc., announced today that Julie Young, a pioneering leader in the global educational technology industry, has joined its advisory board.

Young served for 17 years as president and chief executive officer of Florida Virtual School (FLVS®). FLVS was founded in 1997 as the nation’s first statewide high school. It grew to become the largest online program in the country – and one of the largest in the world – for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The school serves students in 67 Florida districts, 49 states, and 57 countries.
Young is recently retired from FLVS, which also created the first-ever full online video-game based course.

“Julie has a strong history of leadership in creating educational innovation that has served hundreds of thousands of students around the globe,” said Dr. Lisa Dawley, CEO and co-founder, with Dr. Chris Haskell, of Go-Go Labs. “We’re honored to include her expertise on our advisory board, and excited about the opportunities she’ll bring to the company.”

Young holds a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education from the University of Kentucky and a master of education degree in administration and supervision from the University of South Florida. She began her teaching career as a middle school teacher.

“My passion lies in innovative and entrepreneurial initiatives,” said Young. “GoGo Labs is a prime example of both, weaving together the science of gamification with student engagement. I’m thrilled and honored to be involved in such an exciting startup and look forward to contributing to the journey.”

The three-member advisory board meets several times a year to advise management on strategic business planning. Board members also serve as company advocates as deemed appropriate by the board of directors.
