ResponseCard SE Low Cost Keypad for Single Event Use and TurningPoint Lite Application for Easy, Instant Polling Enhance Events

June 18, 2014 – Youngstown, OH – Turning Technologies, the global leader in the audience response technology industry, announced the release of new tools specifically designed for the meetings and event industry. New ResponseCard SE is a low cost, single event use keypad designed with a short term life of up to 10 days that eliminates the need for post-event collection or management of devices. Combined with new TurningPoint Lite software that enables engagement with simple start/stop polling options, the two products are the ideal solution set for event planners and AV providers.

While the ResponseCard SE utilizes the same, reliable radio frequency technology as other ResponseCards, it has been reengineered to incorporate major cost reductions that ensure reliability while shortening its usable lifespan. Optimized for any size presentation environment, ResponseCard SE operates on patented 2-way radio frequency (RF) technology and is not limited to line-of-sight transmission. Responses to interactive polling questions are accurately, timely and effortlessly transmitted to an RF Receiver plugged into a USB port. An LED light on the keypad indicates that responses have been received.

ResponseCard SE features a simple, five button input to facilitate easy participant responding.
Its light weight and compact size allows for comfortable transportation from room to room or across multiple venues. Short-term life (up to 10 days) is the main feature that eliminates manual collection of devices after event conclusion, conserving time and labor. Devices can also be returned to Turning Technologies in order to be recycled responsibly. The keypad will be sold with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of only $9.95 per keypad.

ResponseCard SE can be used with the company’s TurningPoint polling software. TurningPoint directly integrates with PowerPoint®, polls with any application using a floating toolbar and offers self-paced testing. Presenters can use interactive presentations created with TurningPoint to gauge participant understanding of material in real-time, gather valuable opinions anonymously or tracked, collect demographic information, create team or individual competitions, vote and tally results instantly and take attendance among other benefits.

In addition, ResponseCard SE is compatible with TurningPoint Lite, a new application designed for easy audience engagement with simple polling options to quickly ask questions and receive real-time responses. TurningPoint Lite is a streamlined version of TurningPoint that displays as a floating toolbar over any application. Functionality includes start polling, start a stopwatch, stop polling, view number of responses received and view results chart. As a lightweight application, no data is saved. Results are displayed in real-time charts to encourage interaction, increase participation and spur discussions during sessions.

“Response technology was first implemented in meeting and event settings. Speakers experienced first-hand the benefit of incorporating an interactive component and collecting real-time feedback during presentations. ResponseCard SE is the most reliable and scalable offering available for the events market,” said Turning Technologies’ CEO Mike Broderick. “In keeping with our focus on the meetings industry, we will introduce TurningPoint Lite as the software complement to the SE. TurningPoint Lite is a streamlined version of TurningPoint that simply offers quick polling and charts for engagement purposes. Both products were developed for easy implementation that any meeting facilitator can employ.”

ResponseCard SE is available now. TurningPoint Lite will be released in summer 2014.
