August 21, 2014 (Calhoun, GA) — TabPilot Learning Systems released an update to TabPilot Tablet Manager that brings an enhanced feature set to select Samsung tablets. Most Samsung tablets running Android 4.2 or higher, including the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Education, are supported by the update.

TabPilot Enhanced Mode offers features that extend those available when running TabPilot on most off-the-shelf tablets. One key Enhanced Mode feature allows apps to install silently in the background on tablets after the teacher or administrator pushes them out to the tablets from the cloud-based console. Other Enhanced Mode features include the ability to view live thumbnails of student screens via the console or monitor an individual student screen with the full-size view.

“We’re excited to bring our highest level of features to the Samsung tablet line,” said Jarrett Volzer, founder and CEO of TabPilot. “We think the Galaxy Tab 4 Education will make a big splash in the education market and we’re happy to provide a management system that can offer complete lock-down and control of the devices in a way that meets IT needs for security, while simultaneously providing a teacher interface to allow them to monitor and control what students can see and do in the classroom.”

The new features are available in the recently-released TabPilot version 4.2. TabPilot developed these features through its relationship with Samsung as a Silver partner in the Samsung Enterprise Alliance Program (SEAP). Schools can purchase the Samsung tablets directly from TabPilot or through other authorized channels.
