PORTLAND, Ore. – Oct. 8, 2014 – Impero, a U.K.-based global provider of remote monitoring and management software for school computer networks and connected devices, today announced that it has named industry veteran Kirk Greiner as vice president of Impero America to lead the company’s growth and expansion strategy in the United States and Canada.

Greiner, a 20-year software executive will lead Impero business development, sales and strategic channel partnership efforts from the new American headquarters in Portland, Ore., with plans to expand and hire U.S. staff to support new sales and existing customers throughout the country.

With more than 30 percent market share of secondary schools and approximately 25 percent of colleges in the United Kingdom, Impero is looking forward to gaining similar market shares in the United States. Nearly 500 school districts in the U.S. already use the software, giving educators the ability to monitor performance and ensure students remain focused on set tasks while also monitoring or blocking access to specified websites, folders, applications, hardware and games.

Impero’s flagship software product, Impero Education Pro, combines classroom, network and user management functionality in one unified industry focused solution. It offers real-time visibility of users’ computers and tablets in a central console view, giving teachers better control of the classroom and allowing directors of IT to manage their busy networks remotely. In addition, it is seen by school districts as a far-reaching solution to combat cyberbullying and provide Internet safety for student computer and mobile device users.

Today, Impero Education Pro is used to manage more than 4 million computers in over 40 countries.

Impero America Vice President Greiner said, “I’m extremely pleased to be heading up the expansion of Impero in North America. With the growth of tablets and computing devices in the schools at an all-time high, the need for a centralized solution, such as Impero Education Pro, that can monitor and manage, as well as enhance the learning environment across all those devices has never been more acute. In all my years working with classroom management and desktop security products, I’ve never seen an education-focused solution as comprehensive as that offered by Impero. It’s why I came to Impero and why I think educators will embrace our solutions.”

Greiner has held executive positions with education technology management software companies for 15 years. He was formerly with Denmark-based NetOp Tech and Switzerland-based Genevalogic AG, where he was responsible for managing the company’s U.S. divisions, overseeing marketing initiatives, product directives and long- and short-term sales strategies.

Over the years, Impero, founded in 2002, has continued to develop its solutions in direct response to the changing demands of its customers and the modern online learning environment, releasing a host of new software versions and products to its growing portfolio, including a seamless sign-in solution to simplify working in the cloud.

“The U.S. is a big market and we have a big product,” said Impero CEO and Founder Jon Valentine. “We have full faith that Kirk is up to the task of leading our expansion efforts in the U.S. I’ve known Kirk for several years prior to his joining Impero, and no one I’ve met knows the market landscape and U.S. market challenges better than he does. By making firm our intentions and expectations in the United States, we look forward to a record-breaking year for growth.”

Valentine said he expects total company revenues for 2015 to more than double figures for the previous year.

Impero has solutions for elementary schools, middle schools, high schools and colleges, with benefits geared towards a multitude of stakeholders.

In addition to facilitating classroom management and e-safety, Impero’s core product, Impero Education Pro, offers a range of network management tools to help school districts and other education organizations manage their networks effectively. From print and power management to license management and remote control and support, the Impero Education Pro software provides a single, consolidated solution for complete network, desktop and classroom management. It is both a powerful aid for learning and an effective way to manage costs in relation to productivity.
