TabPilot’s Tablet Manager for iOS is free through end of school year

Company offers program for free to schools with 25 or more iPads

tablet-freeTabPilot Learning Systems has announced that its Tablet Manager for iOS will now be free for all public and private K-12 schools with 25 or more iPads through the end of the school year.

This comes as an update to TabPilot’s “Early Experience” beta program, which was previously only open to select schools. The program allows schools to use the system for free in exchange for feedback on the system.

Final pricing is expected to be in the range of $5 to $10 per device per year with an initial license purchase of the same amount.

Next page: More about Tablet Manager and its functionality

TabPilot Tablet Manager is a combination mobile device management (MDM) and classroom management system for Android and iOS. Tablet Manager was designed from the ground up as a school-specific solution, managed entirely through a cloud-based interface.

MDM features include integration with Apple’s Device Enrollment Program (DEP), app distribution through Apple’s Volume Purchase Program (VPP), device security, and inventory management.

Classroom management features include the ability for teachers to freeze student screens or lock students into a single app or website. Features will be expanded throughout the course of the Early Experience program.

Schools interested in using Tablet Manager for free iPad management can sign up at the TabPilot web site at www.tabpilot.com/beta.
