Resource recommendations, customized home pages are new features

The latest version of SAS Curriculum Pathways offers with improved search, user ratings and comments, individual home pages and automated resource recommendations–all with a goal of making learning and teaching more effective, and with more personalization, than ever.

“We make changes because we listen to teachers and students,” said Scott McQuiggan, Director of SAS Curriculum Pathways. “They want a more social experience, to share their opinions and tips with others. They want to navigate our more than 1,250 resources easily, and get relevant recommendations automatically. The new SAS Curriculum Pathways is a substantial leap forward.”

SAS Curriculum Pathways provides tools, resources and apps in English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies and Spanish. Proven in traditional, virtual and home schools, they’re built for how students learn.

Next page: What the redesigned tool offers

SAS Curriculum Pathways intends to increase student learning and teacher effectiveness by targeting higher-order thinking skills. Mapping resources to both individual state and Common Core standards helps educators across the country in their planning.

The redesigned SAS Curriculum Pathways gives each user a customized home page. From there, users can immediately click through to personal history and favorite resources. Teachers can categorize favorite resources in a meaningful way and easily add new content to the categories. SAS Analytics analyzes user activity and recommends other useful resources.

A new filter bar helps makes searching for resources easier and more flexible. In addition to searching by subject, grade level, resource type, or computer or device type, users can sort resources by relevance and user rating, and by what is new or most popular.

With the new ability to post ratings and leave comments on a resource’s interactive landing page, teachers can help each other employ the resource more successfully. Students can also “like” a resource, letting students and teachers around the world know which are most popular.

In addition, case studies, highlighted resources and tips and tricks from the SAS Curriculum Pathways blog will be easily accessible. Nearly 80 percent of resources are mobile-friendly, with more on the way.

SAS Curriculum Pathways has partnered with several learning management systems providers over the past year so teachers and students can access resources through a single sign-on. Integrations with Clever, Blackboard and SchoolCity have helped generate a record number of new registrations.

More than 86,000 teachers and students have registered this year, bringing the total number of users to more than 500,000 worldwide. SAS Curriculum Pathways also partners with Knovation’s icurio and netTrekker, Renaissance Learning, iActive Learning, WHRO, Pearson and Learning.com.
