Edulastic

What’s It Like? Edulastic is a Web-based platform designed to help teachers assess and monitor students as they work toward mastery of the Common Core standards. Currently, the site provides math content for grades 5-8, with more math, ELA, and science to come. The program is free and easy to use. Teachers register with an email and a password. Once registered, they set up their classes and begin creating assignments to assess student learning. Assignments can be developed either by using open-source resources provided by the site or by creating original assessments with a variety of question options.

Price: Free

Grades: K-12

Pros: Streamlines the creation and collection of formative assessment data to support student learning and prepare them for SBAC testing.

Cons: Focus on standards takes away from more creative approaches to instruction and assessment.

Bottom line: Efficient platform supports teachers who are expected to assess and track student progress on meeting Common Core standards.
