Nepris [1] recently closed a seed round of funding totaling $1 million, led by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation. Nepris co-founder and CEO, Sabari Raja, says this round of funding will be used to redesign the Nepris site to simplify the connection process for teachers and professionals; expand Nepris’ work with Economic Development Councils and Workforce Boards giving them a platform to scale industry and education connections at a regional level; boost the number of industry offered sessions, known as Industry Chats, which often attract multiple classrooms from across the country; and reach more rural and lower socio-economic school districts where students have the greatest need. Education.com [3] has released a new guided curriculum that changes the way they help their preschool and elementary children develop essential skills. The new math and reading platform uniquely helps parents and teachers address core learning challenges by combining step-by-step lessons with a variety of learning formats for a multi-sensory approach aligned to the essential skills kids need to learn. ClassFlow Moments [5], a new free app for teacher-parent communication, is the latest addition to Promethean [6]’s collaborative learning software ClassFlow. With the ClassFlow Moments app, teachers can easily share classroom assignments, announcements, and awards with parents so they can proactively engage with their students’ learning. ClassFlow Moments is free for parents. Using their ClassFlow account and the free ClassFlow Moments app, teachers can send parents class assignments, activities and announcements, student successes and awards, and messages. The nomination window is open for the 2017 Harold W. McGraw, Jr. Prize in Education, which honors innovation. The Prize is administered through an alliance between McGraw-Hill Education [8] and Arizona State University [9], which began in 2015. The Harold W.
