PBLWorks, the leader in professional development for high-quality Project Based Learning (PBL), has created a first-of-its kind PBL Project Designer to help teachers plan standards-based PBL units for students. Teachers can build PBL projects from scratch or easily adapt one of 72 Gold Standard PBL units for their students and context.
The Project Designer walks teachers through each step of designing a project, providing tips for creating or adapting projects, instructional ideas, links to project resources, and modifications for online learning. Once complete, projects can be downloaded, printed, and immediately implemented with students.

The 72 projects in its library are created for grades K-12 across multiple subject areas, tied to standards, and designed to easily adapt across grade levels. Each project provides a comprehensive Project Based Learning plan, including a project overview, milestone map, major instructional activities, and editable rubrics. Sample projects include “Waiting on the World to Change,” a Social Studies project in which students learn about the history of social movements and then organize their own actions, and “Chilling Out and Heating Up,” a science project in which students create design solutions that help people to survive in extreme temperatures.
The Project Designer is priced at a one-time fee of $39.99 per user, to be accessible and affordable to the vast majority of teachers.
