What innovative technology initiative or project are you most proud of, and how has it improved teaching and learning in your school/district?Solvent Free Microwave Extraction using a home Microwave Oven. With this invention, I have personally seen students from 4th grade through Master's and above in College get excited about the chemistry around us in plants!
What were some of the biggest challenges to your initiative, and how did you meet those challenges?Getting the word out to other educators of just how easy it is to do some amazing chemistry in a microwave oven.
What are the three biggest components that need to be in place for tech innovation to succeed are:
A means to communicate great ideas.
A small amount of cash for each educator willing to try the ideas. (Enough to cover the costs involved)
Simple, stepwise instructions that can be used as a springboard for the educator and encouragement of that action via possibly a discussion group n the web.
