WireHead Security, SyferLock Partner to Introduce GridOne Authentication to Infosec Island Community

RALEIGH, NC – November 9, 2009 WireHead SecurityTM and SyferLock™ today announced a strategic partnership under which WireHead is delivering a next generation security service to its new Infosec IslandTM, community for IT and information security professionals. The new service, based on SyferLock’s GridOne™ portal solution, is one of the first public Web-based services to provide highly-secure, security grid-based enhanced authentication.  Deploying this technology provides Infosec Island members with the option to login with a very high level of security for confidential business, personal or security-related communications. SyferLock’s GridOne authentication is available now on Infosec Island to all registered members. Membership is free.

GridOne authentication will remain a permanent demonstration and premium level of security available free to all Island members. Infosec Island members are eligible for special incentives and those interested in site licensing options for their organizations are encouraged to contact SyferLock directly for more information at http://www.syferlock.com

Infosec Island is the first secure infosec community Web site, featuring not only SSL-based security, but additional options for enhanced security for its members, including SyferLock’s GridOne portal solution and IslandPKI, an easy-to-use solution for encrypting sensitive employee, health or financial records and documents to share them safely via the Web developed by Media Sourcery

The GridOne system is an enhanced authentication methodology and system that’s completely deviceless for the generation of one time passwords, providing an extremely cost effective security solution. This allows users to have a simple, more secure way to access information leveraging their existing passwords. In addition, the GridOne solution is completely zero footprint. There’s no need to download or install any additional software. This allows the members to receive the same level of security from any machine they use to login to Infosec Island.

“We are extremely excited about working with the Infosec Island community so we were eager to deploy the GridOne portal solution to help Infosec Island members gain a new, first-of-a-kind authentication service,” said Paul Sitar, CEO of SyferLock Technology. “This gives the information security professionals at Infosec Island a safe, convenient and highly secure way to login. We’re very pleased to partner with WireHead and Infosec Island on this innovative Web-based service, which used in conjunction with IslandPKI is not available at any other infosec community.”

“SyferLock’s innovative security grid-based authentication brings Infosec Island members a new, higher level of security that’s extremely convenient to use,” said Michael Menefee, president of Infosec Island publisher WireHead Security. “It helps prevent identity theft or fraud by making sure only authentic logins can occur while defeating many easily executed password attacks. It’s so easy anyone can use it—without needing a special device or managing a complex set of frequently changing passwords. That’s the genius behind their patented technology, and that’s why we’re so pleased to partner with SyferLock to deliver this new option for our members.”

The new SyferLock service on Infosec Island offers the following functionality to Infosec Island members:
Utilizes the user’s existing InfoSec Island password
Absolute zero client footprint and deviceless in nature
Lower TCO and lightweight aspects allow for complete user coverage
Bolsters and works in conjunction with other factors and security measures
