Don’t miss these December events

December has a number of engaging ed-tech events

December-eventsThe school year has moved into December, and as educators and students gear up for a much-deserved break from school, the month brings with it some notable educational and tech-oriented events.

International PISA results will be released on December 3, and the results have important implications for U.S. teaching and learning.

Computer Science Education Week kicks off on December 9. One of the biggest events that week is the Hour of Code, in which educators and students pledge to spend an hour learning about computer science and computer programming.

Stay tuned as eSN takes a look at how teachers across the country are participating in the Hour of Code.

Teachers can access other computer science events here.

We also have two eSN Twitter Hours set to take place this month, on December 10 and Dec. 17, both at 7 p.m. eSN editors Laura Devaney and Meris Stansbury will be discussing ed-tech issues–including BYOD, mobile learning, eRate, and more–with readers.
