Move expands opportunity for growth across K-12 market
Boxlight, an interactive classroom technology manufacturer and K-12 education solutions provider, announced that it has acquired Mimio, provider of interactive teaching technologies.
Boxlight’s innovative classroom solutions are a resource for such districts as Round Rock (Texas) Independent School District, Department of Defense Schools worldwide, Atlanta (Ga.) Public Schools plus Fort Worth and Dallas Independent School Districts.
The combination of Boxlight and Mimio will empower a greater number of K-12 education technology partners with an expansive selection of classroom technology solutions, representatives said.
“The benefits of the Mimio acquisition are two-fold,” said Mark Elliott, CEO of Boxlight Corporation. “It brings a comprehensive lineup of award-winning, proven educational solutions to meet the instructional needs of K-12 districts, schools and students. It also helps Boxlight Corporation take another step forward in its journey to become the single, worldwide education technology solution provider.”
Through the purchase of Mimio, Boxlight Corporation will be able to provide both interactive hardware and software solutions. By combining Boxlight’s manufacturing of patented interactive classroom technology and Mimio’s line of classroom hardware and software solutions, Boxlight will have a complete line of progressive, integrated, classroom technologies.
Elliott continued, “This investment represents an important strategic opportunity to offer the best and most attractive product portfolio in the education technology industry and to be the single source for fully integrated classroom solutions in the United States and worldwide. It also incorporates an incredibly talented team of executives with decades of experience and resources from both companies.”
Mimio President Christopher Leonardo added, “We are excited about what this acquisition enables us to bring to today’s education market: a combined passion for learning and a powerful integrated solution of hardware and software that is unmatched. But even more inspiring is where this will take classroom educators and their students in the years ahead.”
