OWI Inc., a Carson, CA-based innovator in classroom audio has joined forces with other prominent audio/video companies to offer CLASSPAC, a completely automated, easy-to-use, plug and play classroom multimedia system starting at MSRP $3,499.
Sold as a total A/V system, CLASSPAC eliminates the tedious task of contacting companies to find products compatible with each other. All its products are tested for connectivity and operation, assuring out-of-the-box compatibility among the system’s components. CLASSPAC’s interactive website, www.classpacpro.com, makes it easy to design, budget and specify any size A/V system using product partner’s components.
The CLASSPAC educational A/V package includes complementary components from Aurora Multimedia (WACI-PAD 6™ and VGA-composite input wall plate), OWI Incorporated (AMP-1S62 amplified ceiling speakers), and Premier Mounts (PDS-FCTAW-QL projector mount and a digital projector). Custom CLASSPACs are also available to meet different sourcing and product requirements.
OWI’s UL listed AMP-1S62 self-amplified ceiling speaker and IC6 ceiling speaker are the perfect audio partners for laptops, projectors or microphones. The self-amplified speaker drives the other speaker, eliminating the need for an external amplifier.
An OWI CRS-101 infrared wireless microphone system can be added to CLASSPAC as an option. Educators are finding OWI classroom audio components of great benefit.
“A wireless infrared audio system now helps every student hear me clearly anywhere in class, and I no longer have to raise my voice,” says Kelli Murphy, a high school chemistry and AP science teacher in Aliso Viejo, CA, who uses a hands-free system by OWI. “My voice stays strong till the end of the day, every day. I spend more time teaching and explaining, and less time repeating, which is especially helpful in lab work.”
Teachers like the ease of simply wearing the pendant microphone, which allows more natural, hands-free speech, and the fact that the infrared technology allows them to maintain a clear, continuous signal—even when turning side to side anywhere in the classroom.
“The wireless system is so easy to use,” says Murphy. “I just hang the microphone around my neck, walk and talk in a normal voice, and every student in class can hear me through two speakers. It leaves my hands free so I can write on the whiteboard, demonstrate a lab, or operate a laptop while instructing.”
