According to data from Futuresource Consulting Ltd., an independent global research company that monitors demand for interactive displays, the Promethean ActivPanel is now the most preferred model of interactive flat panel display for K-12 classrooms in the United States.
The latest report from Futuresource, which reports worldwide shipments quarterly and for the past 12 months, confirms that U.S. K-12 school demand for Promethean interactive flat panels grew 235.7 percent, a growth rate of more than double the overall market and represents the highest share of all interactive flat panel providers in the United States.
Many K-12 schools around the world have modernized their classrooms with interactive flat panel displays. Futursource reports that worldwide demand for interactive flat panels in K-12 classrooms grew 69.5 percent through March 2016. Demand in the United States grew 111.2 percent over the same period. With interactive flat panels displays, K-12 schools realize the benefits of lower cost of ownership, higher resolution viewing, lower maintenance, and longer life versus projector-based display technologies.
In addition to leading all providers in units shipped into K12 schools the United States, the Promethean ActivPanel is now also the leading brand among K-12 schools in Australia, France, Italy, New Zealand, Spain, the Caribbean, Middle East, Iceland, and Estonia.
Promethean also announced plans to introduce a newer version of the ActivPanel later this summer. The latest version of the ActivPanel will be powered by an externally accessible, upgradeable Android central processing unit (CPU) and will feature wireless and BlueTooth connectivity, pre-loaded applications for mobile device mirroring, digital whiteboarding, and free collaboration software from ClassFlow.
