The Social Institute Expands Team To Meet Increased Demand For Modern Day SEL

Durham, NC – As schools wind down a year like no other, The Social Institute is increasing staff, updating curriculums, and partnering with additional schools in order to empower even more students to navigate social-emotional health, social media, and technology positively for the 2021-22 school year.

Amanda Sports joins the team as Associate Producer, and will bring graphic design, video production, and project management experience. She will work alongside Micah Adams, head of content, to help scale production of lessons and resources to support educators nationwide.

The Social Institute has also hired Andrea Jenkins and Brianna Ingram as Account Executives to cultivate new partnerships with schools across the country. They join Stephanie Lane in that department, who came on board in 2020.

The new hires come as demand reaches an all-time high for the #WinAtSocial curriculum, an evidence-based approach that provides engaging, interactive SEL lessons. All lessons support students’ social-emotional health and well-being, while focusing on trending and relevant current events — including how they’ve been impacted by the pandemic — socially, emotionally, academically, and physically.

“As the American Rescue Plan opens up historic levels of federal funding to address the learning loss from the past year, we are hearing from school leaders across the country who see an increased need for enhanced SEL education,” said Laura Tierney, CEO and founder of The Social Institute. “Research shows that SEL impacts academic performance, and forward-thinking educators are working hard to bring systemic, positive changes to their schools after a challenging year.”

As The Social Institute continues to grow, the team is also looking to hire a Partner Success Manager, Marketing Manager, and additional sales executives. For more information, visit www.TheSocialInstitute.com.
