Jenks Public Schools level the playing field with a 1:1 program

Paul will tell more about the district and about how Google’s education technology helps them to meet their goals and create a successful 1:1 program. Google Apps and Chromebooks have helped Jenks to change the way teachers teach and students learn.

The Jenks Public Schools district is based in a suburb of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is home to 11,000 students. Teachers and administrators work hard to ensure students are prepared to succeed in college and careers — they want to give students real-world experiences with learning and gathering information.

The presentation will address these topics: 

  • Get an overview of the Google for Education solution which includes Chromebooks, tablets with Google Play for Education, and Google Apps for Education
  • Learn how this solution can be used to improve student learning, collaboration, and engagement
  • Hear first-hand experience from a district using Google Apps and Chromebooks for Education to improve teaching & learning
  • Be able to pose their questions to the educators and to Google

Jon Bjornn, Google for Education Team, Google

Jon is part of the North America Marketing team for Google for Education, working with K-12 schools & districts throughout the US especially. Previously, Jon worked in tech marketing in Utah where he met his wife, who was teaching high school English at the time. He graduated from Brigham Young University (Provo, UT).

 

Paul Goodenough, Director of Instructional Technology, Jenks School District

Paul is  Director of Instructional Technology for Jenks Public Schools. During his 16 years as a classroom teacher his taught Math, Science and Computers to middle school students. Paul is passionate about identifying the best technology for the classroom that will equip the graduates of Jenks Public Schools with the essential life skills they need for the 21st century.
