There's been a lot of attention and media around bullying, and it is often depicted in movies and on television. This exposure helps us understand what it is and that it's happening at a frightening rate, especially in school. Most people have either bullied, or been bullied, at some point in their lifetime but today bullying has been taken to a new level in frequency because of social media, and the severity level today is more violent and hateful than when many of us were in school. Because of cyber bullying, students can no longer leave school to get away from the bullies, and the fear factor of violence against them can be overwhelming.
