The use of personally owned devices continues to grow as does the demand by students and staff to use their personally owned devices on campuses across the country. With the rapid proliferation of mobile devices, universities are faced with developing policies and strategies around securely implementing BYOD into their existing environment.
The session will discuss security threats and best practices to support BYOD initiatives that institutions should consider to include: app security, mobile payments, tablets, iOS mobile WiFi, and Social Media. Also recommendations on industry security capabilities to better help Higher Ed address external mandates (HEOA, FERPA, PCI) will be discussed.
