Robofest - little robots, BIG STEM+C missions
What innovative technology initiative or project are you most proud of, and how has it improved teaching and learning in your school/district?We created a competition with various categories called Robofest. Its primary focus is the learning of STEM subjects together with computer science through autonomous robotics.
What were some of the biggest challenges to your initiative, and how did you meet those challenges? The biggest challenge was to promote students to do the work. Many parents were actually doing the work and children were not learning much. To solve the problem, we introduce unknown problems on the day of the competition and we ask all the adults to leave the pit area.
What are the three biggest components that need to be in place for tech innovation to succeed are:
IoT kits in K-12 classes
Robotics kits in K-12 classes
Better computing environment in classrooms
