But in today’s world of ever-changing technology tools, assessments, new instructional approaches, and calls for reform, what does it mean to be innovative?

This broad question, which is open to interpretation, leads many schools to revamp practices and policies to reflect a more modern approach to education.

I agree with all that is shared above. that said, I might reword the first one to speak about “missteps or wrong turns” instead of the word “failure” for that has become such a loaded word in our society. Missteps imply a change to turn and go in a different direction; failure implies a final outcome that was not productive.
