It’s been more than a decade since Michael Rebell filed a lawsuit that led to increased school funding in New York. Now, the lawyer and Columbia University Teachers College professor is on to his next crusade: closing the achievement gap by providing services both inside and outside schools, the Huffington Post reports. Kenyan teachers strike over overcrowded classes
The chairman of the Kenya National Union of Teachers says 200,000 teachers in public schools have started a strike to protest the diversion of funds meant to hire more teachers and ease classroom overcrowding, the Associated Press reports. Wilson Sossion said Tuesday the protest will affect more than 10 million children in primary and secondary schools. They return to class this week after August holidays…
