Case Study: How Weston School District Built a Digital Strategy with Digital Signage, 15 Minutes at a Time

Case Study: How Edison High School Is Using Rise Vision to Serve Its Students’ Diverse Needs

(March 24, 2022) –– Rise Vision has released a new case study of Edison High School, a small school in Elmira Heights, New York, with a student body of 110 students with learning differences. Thomas A. Edison High School has long been rated in the top 10% of educational technology environments in the USA and is committed to find new ways to improve emergency response effectiveness and preparation using digital signage.

Dr. Troy Spetter, Director of Educational Technology since June 2018, is responsible for orchestrating the school’s technology, training and security within the context of a greater vision for Edison and its students. Specifically, Dr. Spetter has helped Edison move away from relying on dated infrastructure and toward web-enabled services, cloud-connected collaboration systems, single sign-on implementation, and a totally new security and backup model.

How George School Uses Location Driven Digital Signage to Improve Communication

George School is a 128-year-old Quaker coeducational boarding and day school in Pennsylvania. It’s home to 540 students representing 37 countries and 18 states. Well known for academic excellence, George Schools has a 95% IB Diploma completion rate, one of the world’s highest. Michael Hodgin is the Director of Technology at George School and has been with the school since 2000. Before George School, Michael worked as the Director of Technology at a school in Maryland and was a mathematics teacher.

Digital signage has always been compelling to Michael, and he first got into it almost ten years ago. Michael started by researching paid and free solutions for George School. Unfortunately, Michael’s research found that most paid digital signage solutions were too expensive, and the free solutions were too complicated to set up and manage. Hays CISD: Using Display Technology to Engage Students and Promote a School’s Mission

Hays Consolidated Independent School District, located south of Austin, Texas, comprises 25 K-12 schools and is one of the fast-growing districts in the state. Like many K-12 districts around the country, Hays CISD schools are avid users of projection technology to present information in classrooms. The district also has adopted a software application, Mirroring360, that allows students and teachers to share content from mobile devices via computers in the classrooms.

Hays CISD has also started introducing new digital technology, such as flat-screen displays for digital signage. “We’ve begun deploying digital signage systems throughout the school,” says Dianne Borreson, Chief Technology Officer for Hays CISD. “For example, cafeterias have digital displays for menus.”

Carousel Digital Signage Transforms Information Workflow at Mount Desert Island High School

MINNEAPOLIS, August 31, 2021 – Carousel Digital Signage continues to build its K-12 education customer base with a Carousel Cloud deployment at Mount Desert Island High School in Bar Harbor, Maine. The Carousel Cloud network reliably delivers digital signage content to 63 displays, covering all classrooms and several common areas.

The installation marks a first for Mount Desert High School, which relied exclusively on e-mail and public address audio to keep staff and students informed. This became increasingly challenging at the start of the 2020-21 school year as in-person classes resumed following a period of pure remote learning due to COVID-19-related lockdowns. With staff and student safety a priority, the number of announcements quickly increased; classes were often interrupted for updates on social distancing and release schedules.
