i>clicker Student Response System Expands Reach into K-12 Classrooms

New York, NY, November 24, 2009 – i>clicker announced today that it has signed an exclusive K-12 sales and marketing distribution agreement with Educational Resources.  i>clicker is one of the nation’s leading higher education student response systems, and this partnership will expand i>clicker’s reach into K-12 classrooms. Educational Resources is the nation’s largest source of educational software, hardware, accessories, and supplemental products, serving educators in all 50 states and in more than 14,000 school districts, grades K-12.

As part of the agreement, i>clicker’s system will be aligned to national education funding programs, including IDEA (Individuals With Disabilities Education Act) and 21st Century Community Learning Centers.  And, i>clicker is now a recommended product for the Microsoft Voucher program.

“Our mission is to create products with superior reliability and ease-of-use that engage students and help them play an active role in their own learning,” said Renee Altier, managing director, i>clicker.  “Although our origins are in higher education, i>clicker’s core philosophy – simplicity and pedagogy – is equally valuable for students and teachers in K-12 settings.  We are excited to be working with Educational Resources, who are seasoned experts in the K-12 channel.”

i>clicker’s focus on simplicity makes it a particularly appropriate system for K-12 teachers, who have limited time and resources.  According to Dan Figurski, president, Educational Resources/Sunburst Technology, “We are thrilled about this partnership and the value an interactive teaching tool like i>clicker brings to the K-12 education market.”

Over the past year, i>clicker has been tried and tested by a growing community of K-12 teachers.  Dean Antic, a Chemistry Teacher at St. Patrick High School in Chicago, IL, states, “i>clicker is a versatile, easy-to-use system that helps provide instant feedback on what students are learning.  Based on i>clicker responses, the teacher can re-teach subject matter or move on to new material.  The students have fun using i>clicker and learn at the same time.  It is a very useful classroom tool and the benefits are immediately realized after the first use.”
